Caring For Your Stone

Quartz - Engineered stone products has outstanding properties to ensure ease of maintenance and longevity. It will withstand exposure to strongly coloured substances, such as tea, stone, wine, etc.

Everyday cleaning

Quartz -Engineered Stone  requires very little maintenance to keep the surface looking like new. For everyday routine cleaning , we recommend wiping the surface with soapy water (a mild detergent) and a damp cloth.

Food preparation

To avoid damage to Engineered Stone  it is recommended that cutting food only on an appropriate cutting board, as the hardness of the surface may blunt knives or even damage the stone.

Polishing

As Quartz/Engineered Stone  is virtually non- porous it will keep its lustrous gloss and ultra smooth surface without polishing, and it never needs sealing.

Heat resistance

Quartz /Engineered will tolerate brief exposures to moderately hot temperatures, however prolonged direct contact with or radiated heat from very hot pots may cause thermal shock, discoloration and/or damage. Therefore we do not recommend placing hot pots, pans, electric frying pans and oven trays directly from the hotplate or out of the oven onto the surface.

Tough? Yes. Indestructible? No

As with any surface, Quartz/Engineered Stone  can be permanently damaged by exposure to strong chemicals and solvents that undermine its physical properties. Do not use products that contain trichlotherane or methylene chloride, such paint removers or strippers.
Avoid any highly aggressive cleaning agents like oven cleaner that can have high alkaline/ph levels should the surface be accidentally exposed to any of these damaging products, rinse immediately with water to neutralize the effect.

Caring For Your Stone

Stone slab sizes and availability are subject to change. There is no warranty on natural stone slabs. Colours on the website will vary from actual stone.

Marble

Marble starts life as limestone. But under certain conditions, the components of limestone crystallize, creating veins and changing its texture.
What to Know: Marble is softer  than granite, but it’s still tough enough for any surface in your home. Marble comes in an array of colours, which can be used for  splashbacks, floors and any vanity tops.

Care: Clean marble surfaces with water. If necessary, use a mild detergent, and thoroughly rinse afterward.

Granite

Granite, which is available in many colors, is often flecked with bits of minerals that produce a small veiny look. Granite is hard to scratch and even harder to stain, it can be used on kitchen bench tops, bathroom tops, and splash backs. Care: With proper precautions, granite will not fade over time. Avoid ammonia-based cleaners, which can damage the surface.

Onyx

Onyx is distinguished by its translucency. The layered stone often comes from caves. Onyx mostly comes in pastel colours which include yellow and rose.

Care:  Onyx is  prone to scratches more than other stones.
